Granted, Im not as motivated by the American Eagle ad as others might be, but I see the point that at least the respect for actual beauty is becoming more important on Madison Ave. I would just like to be the old man that says that the idea of marketing and advertising is completely disgusting to me. If a product is necessary, an intelligent person doesn’t require cheap tricks
I didn’t think about this during the episode but in college I had a different class besides the one I referenced where we had to write a paper about an ad campaign and the teacher was really anticapitalist and also into all this shit about how manipulated we are by advertising etc and I intentionally chose an ad that was just like a 1/3rd page catalog sort of thing advertising some nice Australian hats and explaining how they were a practical and good investment and it was an informative and non-manipulative ad showcasing the product lol
