But I think you may not have noticed that racially ambiguous is what we are now. Our colonial past turned up in the present, and had a laugh at our pompous whiteness. We were a pompous lot, you have to admit. Young people are more or less all racially ambiguous in the US and UK, except somewhere I haven't been. Somewhere that parents make sure their children are aware of their pigmentation? (Something children are never naturally aware of). So I don't think we're going back to being particularly white any time soon.
