What I appreciate most about these articles is, you don't have to be brilliant or highly educated to enjoy them. It just takes curiosity. WR strives to make complex issues approachable to a wide audience (pretty sure I detected a Family Guy joke in this one).

That was in fact a Family Guy reference, I think of it every time I hear one of these operation names.

Its worth pointing out, in antiquity it was common to reference comedies, especially Aristophanes, to demonstrate points during serious arguments.

and indeed I've had some people say their lack of interest has been due to not knowing about the topics I write about.

like, I don't know what to tell you, they're targeted at people who want to learn something

also obviously the title itself is a pop culture reference. I actually saw it said that in the era of AI writing it's important to use puns, references etc in titles, which I did anyway, but feel all the more reinforced about

I started reading this with interest until, very quickly, it became obvious that is a heavily Serbia-biased post. Which is a shame as there some interesting observations.

It is not heavily pro-Serbia, you are just not used to reading things which do not blame them for all of the ills of society. It is clearly the case that blaming one ethnic group for everything was an intentional strategy of the West.
