How Large is the French Public's Rightward Drift?
You can teach yourself to understand French by watching Youtube videos, memorization skills are completely unnecessary and it can be done mildly drunk. If you can devote an hour a day you can up your cred as a Francophile relatively passively.
The hearing it part is pretty hopeless for me, I was close to being able to read French at the time though.
The videos have embedded subtitles. You could do it if you were literally deaf, which you aren't.
The only thing making it hopeless is an attitude of defeatism and the comforting excuses you make to justify it.
I guess. I don't actually care about learning French, I gave up on the endeavor over 15 years ago. WTF am I gonna do with French fluency?
