This week on Dispatches from Clown World, we talk about the rise of the scam state. An incredible article in The Guardian covered a compound housing 20,000 people in Myanmar. Apparently, scamming is big business ran by international cartels and makes is worth as much as 40% of the economy of the Golden Triangle region! I was aware some camgirls are forced labor, but had no idea the Indian scammer calling you might be an actual slave. We try to get to the bottom of the age of scams and what it means for the future.
Our other topics today are: Polis’s recommendations, JD’s dinner argument, Nancy Mace at the airport, Queen of Coal, Pandemic: Peter Hitchens’ Game of the Year (it is apparently Christopher Hitchens who died some time ago. I apologize to the esteemed Hitchens brothers for not knowing which one of them was still alive and producing Britain’s last great export: shitty op-eds,) and Sarkozy’s prison diary.
We are also accepting submissions for 2026 Bingo!

In Alexis’s True Crime Corridor, we have Brian Walshe, the world’s dumbest murderer.
Our Meeting of the Week is of course Piers Morgan and Nick Fuentes. I am not exaggerating when I say this is one of the greatest things in the history of media. Watch it now if you haven’t:
In Clown World History, it has been 30 years since antiwar.com was founded!
That is all. We will have one more episode this year. Trying to decide whether I want to do a special Dec 31st show just to go over the bingo card. Hard to say we didn’t get “Musk finds religion” without going through Christmas. Thank you for listening!
As always, you can find Brad on Twitter @WaywardRabbler and Alexis @LaissezLexi.
